WELLFLEET DAYSAIL CHARTERS AND LESSONS

Daysail-in lovely Wellfleet Harbor with a licensed captain as your guide.
Most days we tack upwind toward the prevailing southwesterly to Jeremy Point on Great Island, real sailing with boat heeling, wind, and spray flying.  Or we might gunkhole in the waters of Blackfish Creek.  Take the tiller or
relax on our Mariner sloop, perfect for the shallows of Wellfleet Harbor. 
Fully retractable keel lets us land right on the beach. 

Go ashore-for a picnic, gathering shells, or a swim in warm water (see Destinations link on left for pictures).   Learn about the flora, fauna and history of Cape Cod from your captain. 
 
Downwind sail home- Most days sailing downwind the boat is level, the apparent wind is low, and it offers a relaxing ride back to the harbor; A good time for snacks and drinks.   Perhaps even drop in a fishing line and catch a bluefish.   Often we fly the spinnaker in light winds back to the marina, which offers the beautiful sight of the parachute-like sail, much photographed in sail photography.   But if the wind pipes up watch out!  It's a Nantucket sleighride without the harpooned whale! 

Schedule (2.5-3 hrs): 11AM & 2:30PM every day. Six passenger max.  Wind is usually calmer in the morning, arrival at Jeremy Point at lunchtime.  Afternoon is usually windier for the hardier sailors, and sunnier too.

WELLFLEET SUNSET CHARTERS

Sunset sail-up the coast to historic Blackfish Creek, site of the former South Wellfleet schooner harbor, and grounding location of pilot whales, then across the harbor into the gorgeous Herring River mouth (tide permitting) to watch the beautiful sunset over the diminutive sand dunes where Great Island connects to Chequesset Neck.  Most days the wind is more gentle in the evening.

Schedule (2-2.5 hrs):  6PM June/July, 5:30PM Aug.  Six passenger max.

WELLFLEET SAILING LESSONSUS Sailing logo
 
US Sailing small boat level one instruction with US Sailing certified instructor. Take introductory lesson, or complete course which is 6-16 hours depending on skill level and experience.  First lesson is 1hr onshore/ 1hr offshore.
 
Schedule (2hrs): 8:30-10:30AM every day.  Three person max.

BUZZARDS BAY AND CAPE COD ISLANDS CHARTERS

In 2012 we are expanding charters to Buzzard's Bay, Nantucket, Martha's Vinyard, and the Elizabeth Islands on larger 25-45 ft yachts. We offer 1/2 day, fullday, or weeklong charters with licensed captain. Some only available weekly.  Call for details.
